“Magic” was inspired by the question of whether one is an “early bird” or a “night owl.” It has long been trained into us to believe that it is better to rise early, that those who stay up late are somehow irresponsible or lazy. This is both wrong and harmful. In truth, we each have our own rhythm and schedule, and it is important to respect those whose lives are different from our own.
I had my “night owl” days in my twenties, throughout college and beyond. I have since learned that I operate better when I wake early, but it is through experimentation that we, as humans, learn.
There is no “right” or “wrong” time of day to wake, to sleep, to live. And each person has a different story to tell based on their experiences. I may see the sunrise in exchange for seeing the stars in the dark of night, and another may feel the first dewdrops but never hear the first birds of morning.
It is a cycle, and we live within it at our own pace.
