“Sibyl Sinclair is a self-employed writer and blogger from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.   While attending Thiel College, she earned a 4.0 in her English minor and loved every moment of it, while also earning membership into the English honor society Sigma Tau Delta.  She has self-published two books of poetry, available on Amazon.  When not writing, she enjoys making and selling crafts.”

That’s what I’m telling my potential agents.  Of course, there’s more to the story than that.

The truth is, I have been writing since I was an itty-bitty authorlet in middle school.  Some of the poems written in my self-published work Lurid Lyrics even date back to that time, though many of my earliest poems were lost to school notebooks and old computers.

The adult fantasy trilogy I am working on getting traditionally published right now actually dates back to high school, about age 13 to 16.  It was a totally different animal back in those days, and I’ll discuss that in more detail in blog posts, but it was nevertheless the same project.

In college, I thought I wanted to be a funeral director and focused my studies primarily on that, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with minors in English and Religion, as well as an Associate’s degree in Mortuary Science.

That didn’t work out for me.

Instead, I worked in retail on and off for a time while also flirting with the idea of becoming a writer.  I wrote a romance novel, turned it into a thriller, and scrapped it all.  I outlined dozens of books that never came to fruition.  I self-published my college Honors Project and a separate book of poetry.  Of course, I kept my fantasy trilogy on the backburner, chipping away at it, the whole time.  None of it made any money.

Even now, I only try to find ways to make money out of necessity while I focus the majority of my energy on writing.  It is my passion.

The fact that you are here tells me that something about me and my work attracted you enough that you went out of your way to find me.  Please, tell me what it was!  I love receiving emails from fans (as well as the occasional piece of hate mail), and it would mean the world to me if I heard from you.

While you’re here, please consider signing up for my email newsletter.  It’ll let you know when I release new books, new blog posts, and new TikToks documenting my travels through the world of traditional publishing.  I promise both entertainment and insight.  I also promise never to sell your contact information.  I’m too Lawful Good to pull that.

Love,

Sibyl
