Sometimes, it feels as though an accomplishment can create a high that lasts forever. In the moment, we will it never to fade, and we think that maybe, just maybe, it won’t.
It does.
Every high is accompanied by a low. It is easy to get lost in this eternal back-and-forth and let the lows make you bitter while the highs carry you ever skyward, but those are the wrong steps to this dance. After all, while the lows may be a result of the highs, aren’t the highs, in a sense, also a result of the lows?
Feeling lost, feeling empty, is a reminder of where we have been. We cannot feel the low without the memory of the high. And without either, there is stagnancy. So, what is there left to do?
We need to move on from our lows and chase new accomplishments, achieving new highs, even knowing what the fallout looks like. Chase the high, embrace the low, and move forward.
