In 2017, I published two books of poetry: “Tempestas Spei” and “Lurid Lyrics.”  They are very different from one another, and I am proud of both works.  Yet, they have gained little traction.

I have been writing my adult fantasy trilogy for twenty years.  Twenty years!  And yet, it still is not published.

Sometimes I wonder why I write when I’m not what you could conventionally call “successful” at it.  Yet it all comes down to potential.  Once this “nobody” phase is done, what may follow?  I know that my writing is worthy.  I know that I am worthy.  It is just a matter of making other people see that.

Without my trilogy published, I have been falling back on my poetry and hoping for a little more exposure there.  The fact that you’re reading this means that it’s working.  So, if I just keep at it, the rejection and deaf ears will all be a thing of the past.

I hope you will visit my socials.  I hope you will share my work with your friends.  I hope you enjoy what I’ve written just as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it.

Stay tuned for more “Behind the Poem” entries throughout the month of April, and if you want a sneak peek at tomorrow’s poem, check my Patreon.  (It’s free!)

Happy reading,
