Day 18: Sliding Scale, Behind the Poem

You are enough.  I can say it to you all I like and hope that you hear it and believe it because just existing is enough to be worthy, but…

You are enough.

I can say it to you all I like and hope that you hear it and believe it because just existing is enough to be worthy, but when confronted with the same sentiment, I doubt myself.

In a world where everyone is trying to be the best at something, it is difficult to believe that the only thing you ever need to be best at is being yourself.  The impostor syndrome sinks in every time and makes me wonder if I belong.

We all show our best side to the piece of the world that is watching, yet we forget that is what we see from others, too.  How can I compare my private worst to someone else’s public best and expect to come out feeling worthy?

But I am, and you are.

WE are worthy.

WE are enough.
